For students 18–19
Too old for camp? Exactly.
Gap year, just graduated, or one application season away from university — this is a summer programme in Switzerland for people deciding what comes next. Not a kids’ camp with older kids in it.
What this actually is
A two-week career taster on the campus of BHMS Business & Hotel Management School in Lucerne — the same building, instructors and standards its degree students get.
QS World Ranking #12 — Hospitality & Leisure Management 2026. Think of it as a pre-college programme: mornings inside one industry, afternoons out in Switzerland with the whole cohort.
- One cohort, ages 16–19. No children’s groups on the programme.
- Taught entirely in English. Pre-intermediate level is enough.
- A working hotel school. Real kitchens, real hotels, real workshops.
- Two weeks. 11 – 24 July 2027.

The gap-year maths
Price a solo fortnight in Switzerland — beds, meals, trains, boat trips, excursions, each booked and paid separately. Then compare.
Here one figure covers everything: daily workshops and materials, shared accommodation, all meals, afternoon excursions and airport transfers. Nothing extra to budget for.
And the fee is not simply spent — it can convert. Every participant receives a CHF 3'900 scholarship voucher: the full Summer Camp fee is credited towards first-year tuition for an eligible BHMS Bachelor programme if the participant enrols within two years.

100%

Lucerne, not a lecture hall
Afternoons leave campus: the lake, the Alps, Swiss cities. Half the programme happens outside.
Straight answers
Am I too old at 19?
No. The cohort is 16–19 by design — people finishing school, on a gap year, or a year out from university. Most Swiss summer camps stop at 17; this one is built for exactly your stage. Over 19? You may still be considered case by case if you have genuine interest in BHMS as a future study option.
Is this a party camp?
Honestly, no. Mornings are real workshops at a hotel school, afternoons are excursions, and evenings are social — games nights, film night, a river cruise — but the programme is supervised and structured. If you want two weeks of nightlife, this is the wrong booking.
Will two weeks actually help me decide what to study?
Yes — that is the point of the format. You work inside one industry every morning and see the other two up close, on the campus where BHMS teaches its Bachelor students. You leave with a Certificate of Attendance and a much sharper answer to "what next".
I have already graduated. Does that matter?
Not at all — it is normal in this cohort. The programme assumes no prior subject knowledge. You need pre-intermediate English and genuine curiosity about hospitality or culinary arts.
Two weeks now. A clearer decision after.
